Comfort in times of crisis  (Luke 21:5-28)

I.   The world to come doesn’t just appear, it is ____________ (Matthew 24:8; Romans 8:22-23).

A.   pain in childbearing is unique to ____________ (Genesis 3:16).

B.   “for these are days of ________________ to fulfill all that is written” (v.22; 13:35; 19:43-44; Jeremiah 6:8; Micah 3:12).

Vengeance is mine, and recompense,
    for the time when their foot shall slip
for the day of their calamity is at hand,
    and their doom comes swiftly.’
³⁶ For the Lord will vindicate his people
    and have compassion on his servants,
when he sees that their power is gone
    and there is none remaining, bond or free.  (Deuteronomy 32:35-36)

C.   God, in Christ, “justifies the _____________” (Romans 4:5), but “how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation (Hebrews 2:3)

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?  (1 Peter 4:17)

II.   Signs in the heavens and in the earth (scary stuff!):

3.   at the return of Jesus (v.25);
